MYSORE
The Mysore class is the traditional method of teaching as established by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. Practicing in silence and following the pace of your own breath, you will work your way through the Ashtanga series. In the Mysore class, you will receive individualized instruction and guidance by a teacher familiar with your practice. You will benefit from both the solitude of your own practice as well as the supportive energy of a group working toward the same goals.
ASHTANGA YOGA
This class covers all of the Ashtanga primary series. It is an excellent next step for those who have attended beginner classes or who have prior experience in another Hatha yoga discipline. We also recommend this class to students practicing through navasana in Mysore class as it challenges the student to practice to a set pace and as such, exposes students to new postures further along in the sequence.
BEACH YOGA
Enjoy summer in Chicago at the beautiful North Shore Beach with instructors from Yoga Now North. We will be meeting at the pier between North Shore and Columbia (6700 North) to do a practice facing the lake. Bring a mat, extra layers, sunscreen and a towel just in case you want to jump in the lake right after class!

FORREST YOGA
The pillars of Forrest yoga are Breath, Strength, Integrity, and Spirit. The mission is to create in each of us a sense of freedom, a connection to our spririt, and the courage to walk as our spirit dictates. This is a challenging and empowering practice emphasizing breath connection, core strength, awareness, and joy.
PRENATAL YOGA
This class is designed specifically to address the shifting shape and unique needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies. This class is appropriate for women in all stages of pregnancy and focuses on relaxation and strengthening the body. No prior knowledge of yoga is needed.
YOGA BASICS
This is a class for those new to yoga but also has teachings for the experienced yogi. This gentle yoga class focuses on the various aspects of the practices of yoga. Emphasis is placed on asana (posture) mechanics, breath, and energy work. This class is sensitive to those who have bodies that may need a TLC. It is an all size friendly class.
VINYASA YOGA
This fun, flowing class combines postures and sequences from various styles of yoga to give your body the breath work and movement it needs. With a dynamic flowing sequence of postures linking breath and movement, this class cultivates awareness while building core strength and flexibility.
FELDENKRAIS
Feldenkrais is a bodywork therapy that was developed by physicist and engineer Moshe Feldenkrais. The Feldenkrais technique combines concepts from physics, judo and Yoga to release tension and improve posture, flexibility and balance. Practitioners use verbal and hands-on techniques to direct clients through a series of movements. These movements are designed to treat physical problems and limitations, and help the client learn new patterns of movement.
5RHYTHMS MOVEMENT
This class is a simple movement practice designed to release the dancer that lives in every body, no matter what its shape, size, age, limitations, or experience. The class will follow the energy in the room and go through the entire "5Rhythms"--Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness--or focus on just one rhythm. Our sole purpose is to move until we are moved; the find the stillpoint within and become free spirits once again.
MINDFUL VINYASA
Combining the primary use of breath awareness and sensation, the teacher will escort you through a sequence of poses that combine yang and yin energy using an eclectic blend of asana styles. This class will give you a new and different experience each time you practice. Come to feel, breathe, move and touch the truth in your heart!
ANUSARA-INSPIRED
Anusara Yoga is heart-oriented, spiritually inspiring, and grounded in a deep knowledge of outer and inner body alignment. This class also focuses on remembering the spiritual purpose of Hatha yoga, which includes reconnecting with our innate goodness, power, and beauty, and expressing ourselves from that divine place.
MOMMY & ME
This class is designed for parents wishing to enjoy the benefits of yoga while bonding with their new baby. This class is designed specifically for new moms and helps restore balance and health to the mind and body through postures, relaxation and breathing techniques. This playful class will allow you to spend time with your baby and other mothers while relieving stress and having fun! (Children 4 weeks to toddlers welcome.)
DEVELOPMENTAL MOVEMENT
This class explores the basic motoring patterns we all learned as infants, and which continue to inform our every movement choice. These patterns are the foundation for complex adult movement and integrate the body's many systems. Offered in a vinyasa-style format, this is an excellent class for yogis, dancers, athletes, and anyone wishing a richer and subtler self-awareness in movement.
LIFE FORCE FLOW
LifeForce Flow integrates life-affirming yoga poses with techniques of intention, visualization, breath, sound, and meditation. The invigorating and relaxing practice helps cultivate a balanced state physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.

PILATES MAT
This class integrates mind and body, breath and movement with mat work that not only strengthens your core abdominal muscles, but increases your flexibility and range of motion. An intense yet accessible journey into the heart of yoga, with focus on alignment, breath awareness, root connection, expansion, and joy. All levels welcome!
VINYASA FLOW - ASHTANGA INSPIRED
A Vinyasa Flow class, integrating principles of Ashtanga Yoga by linking postures together through the cultivation of breath. This class instills core strength, flexibility, concentration, stamina and discipline—It will build confidence in the students practice, and expose the student to the potency of Ashtanga Yoga. Time will be dedicated to working on hips, shoulders, backbends, jump throughs and more, to further individual growth in the practice. This class is fun, challenging, and nurturing. Level 1-2-3.
MAYAN MUDRAS
The ancient Maya used various tools to help align themselves with their life's purpose. In this class, we use sacred symbolic gestures expressed with the hands & body, accompanied by affirmations, intended to evoke the 20 Mayan archetypal energies.
CORE VINYASA
This movement-oriented vinyasa class offers a cleansing workout using the alignment principles and core exercises of the Forrest method.
FIRE YOGA
Learn the fundamentals of spinning poi and fire while practicing yoga asanas.
ALIGNMENT YOGA + GENTLE YOGA
This class combines yoga postures, breath exercises and meditation techniques, in an elegant manner to serve the needs of the individual student. Yoga and Meditation is designed to engage and inspire all levels of the practitioner.
IYENGAR
This class focuses on alignment and action in yoga postures. Standing postures are emphasized in order to develop strength, flexibility, balance and awareness. The use of props helps to facilitate ease and depth of learning.
KIDS YOGA
In yoga class, kids learn self-awareness and
relaxation. The classes are designed to incorporate aspects of yoga that include poses, breathing exercises, meditation, and also games, role playing, reading, dance, drumming, discussion, and teachings from around the world.
KUNDALINI
In this class we will be using breathwork and movements to awaken the spiritual energy or "serpent power" coiled at the base of the spine.
NIA (Neuromuscular Integrated Action)
This class fuses the expressiveness of dance, the power and explosiveness of martial arts, and the wisdom of the healing arts.
YIN YOGA
This class is a meditative, reflective practice that requires no pushing or strain. Yin Yoga applies long asana holds to deeply penetrate the body's muscles, connective tissue and fascia. This technique stimulates growth, spaciousness and energy.
LAYA YOGA
Laya Yoga is the Yoga of absorption. Using Hatha Yoga Asana, Laya incorporates ancient powerful techniques of sound, visualization and the breath. With practice these techniques dissolve boundaries, physical and mental blocks, harmonize the body, mind and spirit and allow one to find hidden potential, inner strength and power. All levels welcome.
YOGA FOR ATHLETES
This vigorous practice focuses on single leg balances, shoulder, hip, and leg openers. All non-athletes and flexibility challenged are also welcome.
YOGA FOR SENIORS
This class offers gentle yoga, breathing and meditation practices that will help to move the joints, restore mobility and increase circulation in the body. Performed on the floor or in chairs, this class is accomodating for all needs.
